CHARDONNAY

Chardonnay is a classic white wine grape. They can take oaky and vanilla flavours easily particularly when fermented in oak barrels. If Chardonnay grapes are put through malolatic fermentation, they take more of a rich buttery taste and the wines become less crisp. The Chardonnay grape likes cooler climates and has less acidity than Sauvignon Blancs. Chardonnay grapes age well in bottles, however not as well as red wines.
