Adelaide Hills is home to some of
Australia’s most elegant and cool
climate and still wines. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir for sparkling and table wines
in the coolest areas and Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot in
warmer areas. Adelaide Hills produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and
Shiraz in areas of lower
altitude.
BAROSSA VALLEY
Barossa Valley boasts over 60 wineries and is neighbour to
Eden Valley
which is known for its premium wines that take advantage of high altitude and
cool climate. Wines including Riesling, Chardonnay Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet
are famous in the Barossa.
Shiraz
has pride of place in the Barossa because it is the birthplace of Penfolds
