MAKING WHITE WINE
Unlike red wine, white wine needs all stalks, skin and seeds removed before crushing.
The crushed grapes then go into steel vats to ferment. Fermentation is simply the process by which the sugar turns into alcohol.
In some cases, strains of yeast are added to aid the fermentation process.
Various particles are then removed in order to stabilise the fermented grape juice.
Before being bottled, the wine can spend from between a few days to a number of years in barrels. The duration can vary and depends on the particular flavours that each wine maker desires.
