WINE BLENDING COMPETITION

Progress from novice to Chief Winemaker in this original event, and experience first hand the decisions our wine company has to make each and every year.

We will throw a light on the mystic art of wine blending, giving your guests the chance to be Chief Winemaker for the evening as they combine up to three single variety wines to make the night’s best blend.

Our winemaker will first explain the art and science of wine blending before we present teams of six people with three wines, explain the characteristics of the varieties, and the typical mixtures that they lend themselves to. It is then up to your guests to mix and match each wine until they come up with their favourite blend. There will be a prize for the best blend of the evening, which will be judged by our esteemed panel.

The blending job does not just finish there … wines need names and of course enticing back labels with which to woo potential customers! Your guests will get the chance to be creative as they come up with a winning name and of course a delicious tasting note which will also win prizes, again judged by the panel.

Throughout the event, Swish winemakers and staff will mingle with your guests, answering questions, offering advice and ensuring the event runs smoothly, to time, and everyone has a memorable evening.

Requirements:

Minumum 18 people (@ $50 a head)
Maximum 36 people (@ $30 a head)
Seated event with tables and chairs
1 hour to 1.5 hours

Swish Wine will provide all wine, glassware, blending equipment and collateral, three competition prizes and staff members to assist in the running of the event.

Your guests will consume approximately 3 standard drinks during the hour of entertainment.
